1. INTRODUCTION

StarLog ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") is a personal electronic journal application that allows users to record and organize video, audio, and text logs into mission projects. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App at starlog.benteck.xyz.

By using StarLog, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you sign in with Google, we receive the following basic profile information from your Google Account:

Name — displayed in the app header
Email address — used to identify your account
Profile photo — displayed as your avatar
Google OAuth Access Token — used to read from and write to your Google Drive on your behalf

We do not collect passwords, payment information, or any other personal data beyond what is listed above.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

To authenticate your identity via Google Sign-In
To display your name and profile photo within the app
To create and manage folders and files in your personal Google Drive using the drive.file scope — restricted to files created by StarLog only
To maintain your login session for the duration of your use of the app

We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or any commercial purpose.

4. GOOGLE DRIVE ACCESS

StarLog uses the Google Drive API with the drive.file scope. This means the app can only access files and folders that StarLog itself creates — it cannot access your existing Drive files, Gmail, Google Photos, or any other Google services.

All your journal entries, project folders, and media files are stored directly in your own Google Drive account under a folder named "StarLog". We do not transfer, copy, or store your Drive contents on our servers.

5. DATA STORAGE & SECURITY

Your content (videos, audio, text logs) is stored exclusively in your personal Google Drive and is never stored on StarLog's servers.
Session data is stored temporarily in server memory and expires when the session ends or upon logout.
Access tokens are stored in your encrypted session and are never logged or written to disk.
All traffic between you and StarLog is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.

6. DATA SHARING

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, except:

Google LLC — as required to authenticate your account and access your Drive via Google's APIs, subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

7. DATA RETENTION & DELETION

Your journal data lives in your Google Drive — you can delete it at any time by removing the "StarLog" folder from your Drive.

To revoke StarLog's access to your Google Account entirely:

Go to myaccount.google.com/permissions
Find "StarLog" and click Remove Access

This will immediately invalidate access tokens and prevent the app from accessing your Drive.

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

StarLog is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
